Today I saw some models of protein-protein interaction networks. They were simple graphs, with nodes and edges, but the 3d models reminded me of mycellium
Anyone want to have a guess at the algorithm he might of used?

Hyphae grow into the lighter areas of the image while avoiding their own trails. Branching and growth speed are also functions of the avalible food (brightness) in the image.
I'm guessing you need images with a good amount of contrast. The particles vector at each step is influenced by brightness of the neighboring pixels, a bit like boids.
so... where do i get the code so i can run it myself?
